Clear Your Mind With a Social Media Clear Out

Sometimes a Social Media detox is all we need to help clear our minds. Many of us will often find ourselves spending too much time online and on our phones to check in on our fave celebs or updating our own profiles so we don’t miss anything out.

We of course have that constant fear of missing out and we want to stay informed on EVERYTHING, because most of the time, your friends and family may be talking about things happening on social media. Many of us just want to check in on the world and this past year has made us anxious that things can happen very fast and can change the fate of everything.

What is a social media detox?

A social media detox is a conscious effort to reduce the time dedicated to social media use- but remember, this isn't just your phone- make sure you're switched off from any device with access. You can switch off for as long as you like; it’s all about what feels right for your life. Start by temporarily removing social media apps or disable the accounts- challenge yourself to completely step away and re-evaluate what you truly get out of it.

Why detox?

Take this opportunity to see how much time you were spending just scrolling through Social Media and what payoff you actually received or what barriers you subconsciously created. After the break, you may be able to set yourself a Social Media time limit so that you can still enjoy interacting with others and benefit from what you see. And you of course will always want to stay connected with friends and family, whether that’s in person or via Social Media.

Social media connects us and allows us to explore our world virtually with a few clicks and swipes. But, you still want your time online to be rewarding and a positive part of your life.

Need to clear your mind? Maybe it’s time for a detox.
