Emotion Tracking Apps

I have been tracking my emotions and feelings on an app for around 6 months now and it has really helped me see patterns in how I’m feeling, how these are linked to different moments in my life or different tasks. I have shared these apps with lots of my clients so that they can also benefit and so that during our sessions we can see if there are any triggers happening that we need to be aware of.

So I wanted to share my top Emotion Tracking Apps with you too. Once you start becoming aware, you can start to regain control. These are 3 different apps that all allow you to track your emotions, tasks and give you a place to write about your day.

  1. Daylio

Daylio is my personal favourite and I have been using it for around 6 months to track my mood daily. I can add multi entries in the day if my mood changes and it is completely customisable. You can change all of the icons, the names on the emotions and add all your daily tasks (broken down into your personal categories).

The app then allows you to see an overview of your month so you can keep track of how things are going. You can also set reminders to complete goals. I think one clever feature is that it can give you a break down of the things that are normally grouped within your mood. So for me when I log a good mood my top 3 activities linked to that mood are Talking to friends, Listening to Music and Cooking. See some screen shots of the app below.

2. Breeze

Breeze is very similar to Daylio but they use cute graphics of colours as the theme through out. Breeze gives you a sliding bar to measure your emotion and then a selection of feelings that you can select from. Just like Daylio you can then keep track of how your emotions change through the day and over a period of time.

Breeze also has tests, articles and insights into things like anxiety, depression and fear.

I’m huge into practicing gratitude and I love that this app asks you daily to express your gratitude, such a simple but great added feature.

3. Reflectly

This app sells itself as a journaling app that’s like your best friend. You can log your mood and use it as a space to write about your day. It works like Breeze with the slider to pick how you are feeling and then you have the choice to pick activities you have done.

Reflectly also asked you questions to journal on, if you are a journal lover this might be good for you. Today I had a question of ‘What do you most appreciate about your friendships?’. Another big feature of Reflectly is their quote section. They share positive and inspiring quotes with you everyday to give you an extra boost.

Daylio is £2.49 per month or £18.99 per year*

Breeze is £9.99 per month*

Reflectly is £58.99 per year* (They often have offers)

My advice would be to use the apps in free mode first and see which one you like best as you will have one that just suits you more. Then if you want to learn more or carry on tracking, you can upgrade after.

Honestly I think that tracking my emotions has been a huge part of me taking control of how I feel, and not allowing myself to sit in periods of low energy and mood for days on end. If you have any questions or would like to discover more about how you are feeling, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
